Okay so I'm still awake at 1:30am when I told someone I would be asleep, but nooo stupid me has to go off and recheck the Applegeeks website yet one more time. You know, I'm not normally the most observant of people, but something Ananth had said in a previous rant, coupled with Hawk asking Jayce about his leadership skills made me want to go check something.
Sure enough, I found something. I checked the boards and didn't see anything, but I gotta wonder...
In Comic 203, after a lot of talk between Hawk and Jayce, in which Jayce ends up taking the lead, Hawk comments "Where'd you pick up the leader qualities? You're awfully good at this." Jayce avoids the question and never answers.
In Comic 198, a television anchor (offscreen) is heard to say "Reports say that Wilder Industries has been particularly active in the military sector --" right before they interrupt for a report on the Apple store exploding.
Jayce's last name is Wilder.
To quote someone I know... "I'm not saying anything. I'm just saying..."
Evil evil evil Ananth... dammit, now I'm gonna be up thinking about this. ::growl::

Hawk avoids it too, doesn't he: "This is the first time I have seen anyone make the connections" Yeah great, but WHAT CONNECTION???
Let us know ^.^
I think there's another connection though... something to do with his dad? probably his business or something?
comic 181

I thought this was common knowledge..
jayce WILDER --> builds eve
eve --> highly destructive <-- military ;)
hmm...
By the way, what ever happened to the third guy from the earlier comics? He just seemed to disappear. Wait, did he even have a name?
Alice: 'I remember your dad being pretty well off, but I didn't know he could afford a chef...'
So Jayce's dad's rich.
Jayce:'He spent most of High School teaching me Buisiness in the hopes that i'd take over for him.'
So he's rich and is involved in a profitable buisiness, linked with the military (Wilder Industries), and we can all see where this is going with Eve on a rampage.
Yeah, i'm gonna stop speculating on the story now. Going to ruin it for myself if I keep on this train of thought...
Accordingly, a likely future plot point where Jayce is put under pressure to either:
1-get back mis-appropriated Eve or Eve-tech from his father's labs
2-get the Eve-tech for his father's labs
Now, depending on how he makes his decision, this opens the field up for:
1-splitting with his father for good (father's disappointment that he's not interested in taking over Wilder Industries)
2-becoming hawk's bitter enemy\former friend when he sides with his father.
Either way, this has huge impact on story and character development.
But yeah you do have some really really intriguing plots in there. Reaaally intriguing...
::hamster wheel starts to turn again, fueled by way too much soda during a WoW alt run::
when Hawk saids "good to know you've got my back"
Jayce's spech is " .. absoutely."
My point is the ".."
is that just friendly 'I truely think you are nuts, Hawk.'
or is Jayce pauseing for other reasons?
That being said, I went looking through the older comics, and I thought I'd just bring up the fact that Jayce lived in the private home before he moved into the dorms because of school policy. I highly doubt that Annath and Hawk meant to have that be in anyway relevant to the plot at this point, but there are posstibilities that fans aren't the only ones looking through the archives.
Speaking of the archives, whatever happened to Naku anyway? I haven't read all the strips in a while, so pardon me if I'm forgetting some plot thing that happened between her and Hawk.
